I LOVED seeing our invitation suite take form– it was such a fun and creative adventure! I started by *of course* scouring the internet (i.e. pinterest) to nail down the look I was going for. Quickly, I decided I wanted: a black envelope with a marble liner and gold foil lettering. I wanted the suite (eventually shaping the aesthetics of the entire event) to reflect my own personal style– which, I have lovingly decided is a mix of masculine and classic/romantic.

I loved the strong, clean lines the black envelope provided complimented by the soft (read: romantic) handmade paper… with just a touch of gold deckled ‘pizazz’ on the hand torn edges. While I was definitely set on what I wanted as the overall aesthetic and ‘message’ for the suite to convey, it took the professional eye (and knowledge) of the talented Shasta Bell Calligraphy to pull all of my ideas together into a cohesive suite. Sometimes my ideas are big and chaotic (whatever, I call it creativity) and it takes someone FAR more knowledgeable to reign you in. She took my ideas and RAN with them and created something more beautiful than I ever could have dreamed up.
