I’m not a huge fan of shorts with boots, it feels very Dukes of Hazard– and unless you’re going to a costume party as Daisy Duke, it shouldn’t be a look. BUT I think I’ll have to make an addendum to this rule, in the case that they are paired with a duster cardigan. I think that the coverage of the long line cardi off sets the shorts and boots and makes it very up to date and on trend.

I was a little intimidated by the duster when it first came on the scene this year. Being 5’3, I try to steer clear of things that make me look shorter and I was convinced a duster would swallow me. I believe I found just the right one AND, especially when paired with the right booties, when actually make me appear taller– WIN!

I think this look is perfect for transitioning into fall and easy to pull together with items you most likely already own, with the addition of your new go to duster cardigan! This look screams effortless and is great for a cool to warm early October day of running errands, when you want to look a little more pulled together than the everyday athleisure look.
