Wedding Wednesday: White Dress Breakdown

Processed with VSCO with c6 preset

White dresses are part of the bride-to-be territory. There are several events that are planned prior to the big day, all of which you are expected to show up donning a white dress/outfit… no matter the season. I got engaged in October and my wedding is in May, so most of my bridal events happened in the winter and spring. This called for some creativity in the white look department… especially because I can’t help but spice an outfit up with shoes and layers.

Here are the events you’re going to want to start shopping white for: bridal shower(s), bachelorette party/weekend (meaning you’ll need a couple), bridal luncheon (in the south we have these the day before the wedding with our bridesmaids) and the rehearsal dinner (depending on the style of your wedding, this could a good excuse for a formal option). Of course, it’s all about how you make this white dress your own, so I also included a couple *not so expected* options to add to the look.

The important thing is to wear something that makes you feel special, but also comfortable and like yourself. For me, this meant to add a leather jacket and dress it down with some statement booties.
