Bags are some my favorite things to buy – I have an ever growing list of ones I have my eye on and want in the future. When sales like this one come around, sometimes its smart to make an investment purchase because some high end items NEVER go on sale… Like the 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Pashli I linked here.

Handbags:

While making an investment purchase can be a smart move during a big sale, it’s also a good idea to stock up on basics that you know you’ll wear for years to come. Nothing beats a quality plain t-shirt and some of the ones linked below are the best (and ones I wear religiously).

Basics:

As for pants, I am a firm believer that you can never have too many pairs. I did a post this week on fresh fall denim and adding to your collection, here is the prime time to do so. I am DEFINITELY not saying to get rid of your old faithfuls, but just to add a few new friends into the mix.

Pants:

Winter is coming (whether we like to admit it or not – can it be fall forever). So sales are the perfect time to think ahead and shop around for what you know you’re going to need come November. Sometimes a fresh jacket can brighten even the most gloomy winter day!

Outerwear:

Activewear is something you wear all year round, no matter what mother nature brings. So, like basics, sales are the perfect time to stock up on the leggings you know you’re going to wear all year long when you’re running errands and grabbing a coffee… er, i mean working out. Whatever!

Activewear:

As you can tell be the detailed boot post I did last week, they are a shoe category I take VERY seriously. I was pleasantly surprised by the huge assortment marked down for the SHOPBOP sale – such a rare treat!

Booties:

When it comes to sweaters, you can’t have too many… and obviously this season I’m really into the white/off-white tones! So tell your mom to hush when complains about wearing too much white after labor day and throw on that white pant and sweater combo. (Hi, mom.)

Sweaters:

Dresses are easily overlooked in the fall because we’re all so excited for jeans and sweaters, but with how the weather has been lately – its not a bad idea to opt for a cooler option. But since it is fall, obviously stick to seasonally appropriate fabrics and pair it with a some booties or over-the-knee boots.
