I figured I would start of October’s outfit posts off with a look I frequent this time of year. On any give day in the fall, you can find me in an oversized sweater, black denim (or yoga pant) and ankle boots. This look is so casual and comfortable, yet still put together – kinda my mantra.

This sweater is a recent purchase and has quickly become my favorite, I wore it twice last week… oops! I grabbed it at the Loft 40% off sale a few weeks ago. Y’all I came SO close to not even going to the sale, but once I saw all the cozy knits everyone was snagging on major markdown I had to partake. Isn’t that how it always goes? The one sale you’re iffy on ends up being the best one. Lexington actually has a Loft so I jumped in my car and did a little in store shopping – not my usual online method. Anywho, long story short and a couple hundred dollars SAVED later I ended up with this little number in my closet (and several of her friends). This is actually from the Lou & Grey line and the first piece I’ve gotten from them, but definitely not my last. It essentially feels like you’re wearing a blanket and I’m not mad about it. I love that it cuts high on both sides to give the sweater a flattering shape. Where I am on the shorter side of the height scale, sometimes I can get lost in a chunky sweater and it ends up adding 10lbs on me – not the case with this charcoal beauty.

As for my ankle boots, they are also new this season and I am obsessed. When purchasing a boot, I tend to ALWAYS gravitate to a cognac shade… These are a little more “mustard” than my usual tone and I am really into it. I wasn’t so sure about them when I first pulled them out of the box because they’re honestly a shade I’ve never seen before in a boot. But, I have been trying to expand my boot collection in a smart way and not over buy boots in similar shades. Plus they actually feel like I’m wearing tennis shoes and I am allllll about a comfy heel.
